Sharmila stresses on simplicity & comfort with each posture for more affectivity, rather than attaining the traditional poses. She simplifies every posture to such an extent that any individual in a batch is able to practice some form of it. So practice becomes pleasurable & enjoyable.
Being a housewife, I had no time for myself. Sharmila stressed on giving time for oneself, on regularity & sincerity for maximum & early effects through Yogabhyas. My knee pain has nearly gone. I feel more confident, energetic & can handle any situation with a cool & positive attitude.
Through Sharmila’s explanations in case of Pranayamas, I now understand the importance of "each" breath which normally is taken for granted. It helps to look at yourself & at your life with a totally different angle & develop a positive attitude towards it.
Before coming to sharmila’s Ageless yoga - Yoga was boring for me. Now I have taken it as a way of life, as she suggests, Really! Had never enjoyed it like this before. I have completed just 3 months of the class, but I find tremendous positive changes in myself. The specialty of the class is the variations in Omkar chants which is so soothing and just revives my spirits.
Here we understand that yoga is not just the complicated postures or joint stretches. We know how the Asanas are defined in different yogic texts-"Sthira Sukhamasanam"- ie.steady & pleasurable psychosomatic pose. How important is the slowness & steadiness while performing. Gradually I see changes in the breath rate & pulse rate. It is going down which gives a sense of calmness.
